This post was well overdue. I have struggled to get back into the whole vlogging and blogging thing. The end of last year was particularly difficult for me; my grandad passed away.
For a while I had struggled with this loss, but now as the sun comes out, drawing the butterflies and bees out, I feel so much better.
Best of all, I was successful in breeding my Timor Shield Mantis ( Rhombodera kiriybi). I received around 100 or so babies from one ootheca. Unfortunately, if the birth rate is high , then there will also be a higher death rate, but I have managed to keep 50 alive. Cannibalism is another reason for the drop in survival rate.
The nymphs are so cute. Here are some photos of the nymphs and the gorgeous mother as well.
