The Southern Invert Show

Hello again my fellow invert lovers. I am back with another post. It seems like it has been such a long time since I posted anything. I apologise for that.

So last week, I went to the Southern Invert show in Southwick. I wasn't going to as I thought to myself, 'I can't buy anymore, I have uni, and can't keep anymore,'. However, that internal voice screamed 'You can have some more', so I decided to go. It was actually a purchase I made of two pairs of stunning Rainbow Stag Beetles( Phalacrognathus Muelleri) online that pushed me to go.

Rainbow Stag Green Male( Phalacrognathus Muelleri)

Below is the purple Rainbow Stag male. My favourite variety of them!

Female Rainbow Stag(purple, I also got green ones too!)

As I am not often here during the day because of uni, I decided to pick the beetles up from The Insect Farm at the show. As soon as I got there, my childish excitement took over and I had an impulse to buy more insects.

If you have never been, I recommend you go. All types of invert keepers are welcome, if you are a beginner, intermediate or experienced. As soon as you are inside, you see a room filled with exciting species of inverts; Insects, Arachnids, Myriapods; a whole world of inverts is there waiting for you!

I thought, 'I won't buy many', but I purchased more than anticipated. Three pair of Rainbow Stag Beetles( two of which I had already reserved), some ants( Bamboo Sugar Ants) , a leaf insect and some Phyllium tobeloense eggs( Autumn Leaf insect).

This the collection I came back with. As you can imagine, I came back with a big grin plastered on my face.
